PR-EARLY-WIN-003
Instruction-based painting with visible evaluation layer / Painting, text instruction, and score display
Work Description
A simple early-win work that stays within the artist’s system-based practice by treating a painting as the execution of an explicit rule and pairing it with a minimal evaluative mechanism. The work should be legible first as a straightforward painted image, but its actual structure is procedural: the image is produced from a concise authored instruction, and a small adjacent scoring display makes visible the logic of assessment, optimization, and value production that runs through the broader practice. The piece should avoid unnecessary technical complexity while still operating as a critique of authorship, delegated decision systems, and art-world evaluation.
Produce one wall-based painting from a single concise instruction. Keep the image direct and executable with basic studio means. Alongside the painting, include a small printed or framed score panel that evaluates the work using a short rubric such as clarity, execution, market appeal, and institutional resonance. The score panel may be completed in advance as part of the work record or presented as a fixed displayed assessment. Required materials should remain simple: one wall-mountable support, paint, brushes, hanging hardware, and one printed/framed text element for the instruction and score. Do not add custom electronics, software, sensors, or networked components in this first version. The result should function as an easy-to-implement exhibition work while remaining clearly within the practice’s themes of rules, evaluation, delegated judgment, and value construction.
